An app switch, a locked screen or another app taking the camera can interrupt a reaction session. When that happens, the useful question is which clips actually finished and remain playable, rather than whether the camera preview once appeared.
Keep Fesi open while you capture. This guide covers automatic Reaction Mode, not the preparation of an edited export or the Record with a Background workflow.
Understand the foreground boundary
Fesi’s reaction workflow uses the camera while the app is active. Do not rely on it to keep capturing while you browse another app or lock the phone. If you want to react to a match or movie, arrange the viewing setup so Fesi can stay open on the recording phone.
On Android, moving Fesi into the background ends the active session and can display “Session ended because Fesi moved to the background.” Returning to the app does not mean the previous session silently resumed.
Distinguish a captured clip from rolling footage
Automatic capture maintains recent footage so a reaction can include its lead-in. That rolling source is not the same as a finished reaction in the Library. On Android, an interruption can finalize an already triggered capture, while an untriggered rolling source is discarded.
Exports already in progress are handled through the session’s finishing logic. This does not guarantee every interruption produces a saved clip. Wait for the app’s completion or error state, then check the Library for the actual result.
Review before starting again
- Return to Fesi and read any interruption or preparation message.
- Allow active finishing work to complete.
- Open the most recent session in the Library.
- Play each important clip and check its beginning, ending and audio.
- Start a new session when you are ready to capture again.
Do not assume that a thumbnail proves the whole recording is intact. Playback is the useful check, especially if the interruption happened during an important reaction.
Check the new session’s readiness
Before continuing, confirm the camera view, lighting and microphone status. Another app may have used the camera, or your phone may now be pointed differently. Treat the resumed setup as a fresh capture check.
The readiness guide explains the relevant messages. If camera access remains unavailable, follow the app’s permission or retry guidance before expecting automatic capture to work.
Know what recent-moment capture can recover
Save Recent Moment preserves footage that is available to an active session. It cannot reconstruct a reaction during a period when the camera was not recording. Tapping it after returning from another app is not a way to recover the whole interruption.
For that control’s practical limits, see Save Recent Moment. If you have already captured a meaningful reaction, use Favorites to make it easier to find while you review the rest of the session.
A simple routine helps: keep the recording phone in Fesi, finish a session deliberately when possible, and verify important clips before assuming they are ready to share.
